It Came From SF Sketchfest
It Came From SF Sketchfest
"SF Sketchfest teams up with comedy curator Jeff Zamaria (Learn From Me Comedy) to bring you a brand new monthly showcase of stand-up, sketch, characters and more at Doc’s Lab, formerly the historic Purple Onion in North Beach. The shows will (mostly) take place on the second Thursday of each month.
DJ Real
DJ Real
Nick Stargu is a musician, comedian, writer and filmmaker who is best known for his musical comedy act, DJ REAL, which has been featured at Outside Lands, San Francisco Sketchfest Comedy Festival , Bridgetown Comedy Festival and more! He most recently appeared on the TV show “Flophouse” on Viceland. And he’s opened for Devo! Nick also performs as Imaginary Radio with comedy partner, Drennon Davis. They have performed at SXSW, SF Sketchfest, the Funny or Die Oddball Festival and has appeared on NBC’s newly released "Comedy Show Show” on SeesoTV.

"The word ‘innovative’ is typically over used in the bay area, in this case it actually applies. ‘DJ Real‘ uses a combination of technology and sound that keeps you laughing while at the same time wondering ‘how is he doing that?" - www.brokeassstuart.com

"...DJ REAL was a very strange, and strangely wonderful combination of lo-fi recording artist and Andy Kaufman comedian..." - SF Weekly
Kasper Hauser
Kasper Hauser
Kasper Hauser, a San Francisco-based comedy group, is (L to R) Dan Klein, James Reichmuth, (former member) John, and Rob Baedeker. They perform and produce live shows, digital content, and books. The group’s work has been produced by the BBC, HBO digital and "This American Life."
Karinda Dobbins
Karinda Dobbins
Motor City native Karinda Dobbins was born into a politically active family of skilled storytellers and sharp wits. Her worldview was shaped by their accounts of protest, civil rights and empowerment, weighty subjects that were always leavened with humor. She has appeared at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival; featured at Bay Area comedy clubs the Punch Line and Cobb’s; opened for Michael Che, Greg Proops and toured nationally W. Kamau Bell. Karinda made her primetime national television debut on Coast-to-Coast Episode 1 on NickMom Night Out.
Paco Romane
Paco Romane
Paco has appeared on Comedy Central, NPR, Nickelodeon, and is a critically acclaimed and award-winning comedian and filmmaker. He was twice voted “Best Comedian” by the SF Weekly and the San Francisco Bay Guardian. He has established himself as one of the San Francisco comedy scene’s favorite comedians, and his energetic, self-deprecating comedic style is a hit with audiences across the country. Paco uses his experience as an improv/sketch comedian to take just about any live moment and spin it into his act.

He has been described as a mix of your favorite uncle with just a pinch of Jack Black. Bookers have called Romane, “a favorite with crowds because he brings energy, improv and great observations into his act-he is one of the most engaging comedians!”
Torio Van Grol
Torio Van Grol
Torio Van Grol was first discovered by a gentleman naturalist in 1676, causing an uproar among the clergy, who claimed that he was placed on Earth by God as a test of faith. After much careful study, Torio has been widely accepted as real, though some controversy lingers. Many people believe that early humans coexisted peacefully with him, even caring for him and riding on his back as a form of transportation.
But Torio is not strong enough to carry people, instead relying on speed, cunning and a bulletproof eBay rating for survival. His primary habitat is the comedy clubs of the Bay Area, California, but he has been spotted as far south as San Diego and as far north as Sonoma, grazing on the region's naturally plentiful burritos. Torio is highly prized for his jokes, which are rumored to have aphrodisiacal properties. He is both fascinating and terrifying to children.

Torio produces comedy shows throughout the bay, including the popular Back Alley Comedy shows that began in Sonoma. He recently performed in the Rooster T. Feathers comedy competition, in which he finished runner-up, and was apart of the Santa Cruz Fringe Festival and Sacramento Comedy Fest in 2014.
Samantha Gilweit
Samantha Gilweit
Samantha Gilweit is a single mother and comedian based in Oakland, CA. Samantha’s comedy has been described as personal, clever, and fearless, or as Larry “Bubbles” Brown said after seeing her perform, “She smoked that room like a crack pipe.” Samantha has performed at San Francisco SketchFest, the San Francisco International Comedy Competition, Punch Line in San Francisco, and many other venues all over the Bay Area and Los Angeles. As a single, sex deprived woman and co-host of the comedy podcast, “Stood Up,” Samantha helps the general public with their love quandaries. She can be found on twitter at @samanthagilweit.
Joey Avery
Joey Avery
A Bay Area native, Joey started his comedy career in Cape Town, South Africa. After his return he continued his pursuit in the San Diego comedy scene, where he was booked at the 2013 Sun God Festival alongside acts such as Kendrick Lamaar. He most recently opened for the "Pitbull Of Comedy" Mr. Bobby Slayton. Joey has recently returned to Northern California where he hopes to continue his comedic growth
Clay Newman
Clay Newman
Clay Newman is a joke slinging rabble-rouser that has been a regular feature of the San Francisco comedy scene in early 2012, making people’s sides hurt with tales of life, love, and all that other crap that fills our days up. Before then, Clay studied the theater at SFSU and could be seen filling up ensembles all over the Bay Area. But he eventually decided to give up on acting to follow a much more realistic dream of stand-up comedy (just let him think it's realistic, he's not hurting anybody). These days Clay can be seen all over California, performing at some of the Golden States biggest stages including Cobbs, The Purple Onion, Punchline SF, Comedy Store LA, and the Ventura Harbor Comedy Club. You can follow him on Twitter @TheClayNewman and find him on Facebook for info on future shows.
