I've been playing music since I could tie my shoes. I started out playing the piano over the phone to girls I liked in elementary school. A little over a year ago, I moved to the bay with a van full of instruments. The van broke down, but I figured it out and have been recording, studying, and performing music here ever since.
Mardi Morillo
Mardi Morillo
Mardi Morillo is a singer-songwriter out of the Bay Area. In a former life, he worked as a CIO in the healthcare industry. He found his life's passion in music when he quit due to losing partial vision from glaucoma. After picking up the guitar over four years ago to learn one song ("Stop This Train" by John Mayer) he began writing his own songs and music has changed his life.

He is regularly performing at shows throughout California and is a songwriter in residence at Crema Coffee in San Jose. With music that is influenced by many contemporary artists like Adele, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, he aims to inspire others and make universal songs that touch on themes of love, isolation, and hope.
MJ Lee.
MJ Lee.
MJ Lee. is a pop/rock singer-songwriter who combines honest, poetic lyrics and melodic pop sensibilities. Her sound draws from a wide range of influences, from the melancholic rock of Jimmy Eat World to the lush soundscapes of Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi.

With her debut release, The Lights Ahead, Lee. showcases her ability to write memorable anthems and weave them into compelling narratives. The six-song concept album tells the story of an artistic coming-of-age and the realization of a creative vision. Supporting the narrative is a piano-driven band with Lee. at the helm, combining ethereal layers of strings and electronic instruments.

A self-taught songwriter who has played the violin since childhood, Lee. strives to write music that is emotionally resonant and probes the depths and heights of human experience. The period at the end of Lee. signifies
the abbreviation of her last name and signifies the parts of ourselves that don’t show on the surface but that we carry with us nonetheless.
Alex Jimenez
Alex Jimenez
A product of the early San Francisco indie music scene, Alex Jimenez has spent the majority of his life creating music to share with his fellow musicians and community. An avid guitar player and singer, Alex is currently focusing on his solo work, a blend of acoustic pop meets gritty blues.

After spending most of the 90's playing bass in local bands, Alex realized in the early 00's that he could actually write songs. He wrote his first 5 songs back to back, and subsequently formed the acoustic duo Ms.Quito with artist/performer Allison Hennessey. Ms.Quito was short-lived, but Alex took those experiences, wrote, and independently released his first EP
‘Mosquito Tracks... songs about Love, Loss, and Money’.

In 2010-11 life took a nosedive, and amongst other things, Alex lost his job of 16 years. Not knowing what to do with himself, he decided to hit an open mic. One fateful Tuesday evening, Alex took his guitar and went to went to check out KC Turner's Open Mic Tuesdays @ the Red Devil Lounge. He liked it A LOT. The following Tues, he went a little earlier to get a better spot in line, and met the one and only Alan Monasch. Subsequent Tuesdays Alex met and befriended some of his favorite people in the world, people he now calls his friends. From those new beginnings he found himself full circle, back in the San Francisco local music scene he grew up listening to. In 2012, he released his first Long Player ‘The Acoustik Projekt’, with songwriter/conga player Mark Edgar. That same year, his 2
year, fifteen show odyssey, 'The Usual Suspects Songwriter Showcase', became a critical favorite, showcasing some of the Bay Area’s finest talent. Currently, his new EP, ‘Inside’, is being mixed by the indomitable Ryan Clark. As a full time Science and Sci-Fi nerd, Alex has recently teamed up with vocalist and fellow geek Paul J. White and started writing songs in the genre, featuring songs inspired by Korean Sci-Fi movies, R. Buckminster Fuller, and Doctor Who.

Alex has also returned to his roots, and can be seen moonlighting as Thunderegg's full time rocking bass player.
