Joe Tobin & Emily Sims
Joe Tobin & Emily Sims
Tobin and Sims are the keepers of the Tobin Mic Night. Joe Tobin is a standup comic who once shook the hand of Joe Montana. Emily Sims is a writer and professional cynic who often shakes a fist at Joe Tobin. Separately, they are funny. Together, they are indomitable. They have worked together previously on such projects as "Moonlighting SF: The Variety Show with the Happy Ending"; "Riding Drunk on BART for 65 minutes to Get to Alexander's Birthday Karaoke Thing in Fremont"; "A Rooftop Media Holiday Party but We Weren't Really Friends Then"; and a show in the Mission where they made fun of an episode of "Quincy".
Karinda Dobbins
Karinda Dobbins
Motor City native Karinda Dobbins was born into a politically active family of skilled storytellers and sharp wits. Her worldview was shaped by their accounts of protest, civil rights and empowerment, weighty subjects that were always leavened with humor. She has appeared at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival; featured at Bay Area comedy clubs the Punch Line and Cobb’s; opened for Michael Che, Greg Proops and toured nationally W. Kamau Bell. Karinda made her primetime national television debut on Coast-to-Coast Episode 1 on NickMom Night Out.
Chad Opitz
Chad Opitz
Fresh to the San Francisco Comedy scene, Chad Opitz is a comic and musician whose unique takes on sometimes odd subject matters are making him an oft booked staple at Bay Area clubs and showcases. Chad was the winner of Bay Area legend Jimmy Gunn's "Best Newcomer" award as well as a finalist in the Rooster T. Feathers Competition, 2nd place finalist at the 2016 Sacramento Comedy Competition and 1st place winner of the Walk the Plank comedy competition, beating out 100 comics for the top prize. Veering between one-liners and short story jokes, Opitz's writing is as well-regarded as his character and performance work. As his Nervous Energy music act, Opitz has opened for Neil Hamburger, Mark Mallman and performed in Cleveland for members of Devo.
Kristee Ono
Kristee Ono
Kristee Ono loves burritos and is dying to tell you about it. A little dark, a little weird, relatively entertaining, she has been in the San Francisco comedy scene for 7 years gently introducing herself into your system a little bit at a time as not to overwhelm you. She performs all over the Bay Area and beyond. She was also a host of the Ladies’ Room Comedy Open Mic, the city’s only all-female comedy open mic. She wants to be where you are, if you’ll have her.
Trevor Childs
Trevor Childs
Bay Area Trevor Childs’ Band has been stalwarts in the Bay Area rock n’ roll scene for over 10 years and have played from strip-mall dives to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium bringing direct, real rock n’ roll storytelling that combines All-American classic rock (think early Cheap Trick, Warren Zevon & Ian Hunter) with the ragged glory of Faces, Badfinger and Crazy Horse. On record, however, the band carefully crafts arrangements with new wave and prog rock touches. Their latest album “Spirit Guide” recorded over 3 years in garages, rehearsal spaces and recording studios is their version of Boston’s 1st LP- it’s the best thing they’ve ever done and the combination of their 10 years of blood, sweat and tears.
Katy Stephan
Katy Stephan
Katy Stephan's music is both sweet and salty, delicate and powerful. Beautiful sonic valentines handcrafted from oaths, prayers, curses, feathers and frills.
